WWW.CHANGETHEMVPA.ORG Military Vehicle enthusiasts, MVPA Members, and MVPA Affiliates, we need YOUR support! We are asking you to read and be informed as to the actions of the MVPA Board of Directors and to question these actions via personal email or thru your local affiliated club. The links in the letter (on the prologue page) from Kay Willard are active and can be used to voice your opinion directly to the Board of Directors.
We have
no interest other than reforming the MVPA and giving a voice

November 23, 2007 Mr. President: THE BALLOTS HAVE BEEN TABULATED. THE CANDIDATES NOTIFIED. WHY HASN'T THE RESULTS BEEN POSTED ON THE ORGANIZATIONS WEBSITE?!! THERE IS NO REASON TO KEEP THE MEMBERSHIP IN THE DARK IF THE RESULTS ARE KNOWN. MVPA MEMBERS: CALL HQ'S: 816-833-6872 or EMAIL: hq@mvpa.org and ask for the results. October 25, 2007 MVPA VOTER TURNOUT IS ABYSMAL! The word from MVPA headquarters is that the voter turnout is light, under 1000 ballots cast. The old saw is true: people get the government they disserve! If you want the wrong people elected, then just hang on to your ballot. This is a national organization and it can be a powerful advocate for our organization at a time when militaria is unpopular because of an unpopular war. We shouldn’t disregard the negative demonstrations we will see on Veterans Day. People associate us with the war, and the casualties to these wonderful kids. They do not understand that we honor their service, regardless of how we may feel about the politics. That is why we do the parades. The MVPA can do a better job of promoting our hobby, and many other things, and the way we influence them is through elections. Please, if you are an MVPA member, Please, Please vote! All it takes is marking a few checkmarks on the Ballot included in the September Supply Line, putting on a stamp and dropping it in the mailbox by November 1. If the Board knows that the members care enough to vote, then they will value the opinions of the members. If they see that there is a lousy turnout, they will figure that no one cares enough to invest 41 cents in good government. If these people, who are running for office, want to devote the time it takes to take on running the MVPA at a time when the job is no pleasure, all criticism, and no praise, do this, the least you can do is take the minute it takes to vote! Otherwise, don’t come crying to them when someone tries to take your toys away!
September 10, 2007 HAVE YOU MAILED YOUR BALLOTS BACK?! BALLOTS ARE DUE IN:
July 6, 2007 MVPA MEMBERS VOTE… John CHENEY, II David CADORETTE David WELCH Tom WOLBOLDT
Your support for these candidates is needed NOW more then ever before. After the ballots have come out, be sure to use your vote. You vote is one of the few things that you can do to tell the MVPA Board how you feel about the issues of the MVPA. The above named candidates are the ones from the eight that we feel will best usher the MVPA into a NEW ERA of growth and responsiveness. This year for the first time there may be a Date of Record as to who can place a vote. Ideally this date would be about a month before the end of the balloting, which is Nov. 1st. It could be as early as July 21st., which is when the ballots are scheduled to be mailed. If you have dropped out in the past we ask you to rejoin now before the July 21st. date so that you can make your voice heard though your vote. To rejoin just call the MVPA headquarters at (800) 365-5798. Only by all members working together can we bring the MVPA back to the proud organization that it should be.
June 30, 2007 THE MEMBERSHIP HAS SPOKEN! At the membership meeting in Little Rock, the vote on the Board's final attempt to remove the voting rights of the members was DEFEATED by a vote of 112-30! We would like to thank the membership for their decision to start to "take back" the MVPA from an indifferent Board of Directors! |
